A FUNNY THING HAPPENED…
A funny thing happened on my way toward writing the last few sentences of my previous blogpost on freedom.
I had saved a binder with newsletters from a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that I founded in 1983, and I "just happened" to open to page 7 of the last issue, which was the Winter 1992 edition. To my surprise I found an essay that I had written on feminism and — of all things — freedom!
With freedom being so very much on our minds as we move into the pivotal day of Tuesday, the 2024 Election Day, next week, this seems like a timely topic to look at once again.
The name of my organization was: Christian Women: Quo Vadis? Where are we going? Toward unity of all women & men. Toward God.
The name of its monthly newsletter was: Aqueduct: A Spiritual Channel of Communication.
Page 7 of the Winter, 1992 issue is reprinted below.
In the next blogpost, I will provide some backstory on the organization.
For now, consider the following questions:
In my essay “FEMINIST CONNECTIONS:” consider the questions at the end.
In the set of speech bubbles entitled "SOME OF THE QUESTIONS FEMINISM ADDRESSES:" consider all of them.
The Sexism in Language speech bubbles graphic, reprinted in the 1992 issue of Aqueduct, is actually a reprint from Colloquy magazine November 1973.
So we get a peek into the way we were 51 years ago!
How much would you say has changed since then?
Here is page 7 of Aqueduct, Winter edition 1992.
